How to backup the firmware of
Huawei MT882 or MT880
1) Install a TFTP Server on your computer (
http://www.solarwinds.net/Download-Tools.htm)
Start it and let it run.
2) Access via TELNET to your
router - Telnet 192.xxx.xxx.xxx
3) Login as superuser - your username and your password
username: admin
Password: admin
4) Do the next steps after being logged in telnet console

--> console enable
Switching from CLI to console mode - type 'exit' to return

The backup has been done if everything went properly.
Now on your folder C:\TFTP-Root there is the backup firmware file. You can rename it to your firmware version if you like...
Now you can try to tftp the binary file to your Modem. Note that this file image is in binary format and is much different from the *.xDSL file provided by huawei.

i recieved an email. from huaweii people..they've send me the upgrade firmware of mt882...it is ras.dat..they've said ask local isp provider to make it useful
