Hi all, I have been playing with many sify alternative clients but was unsuccessful. If you have windows and any other unix system, you can connect to broadband in any linux or solaris.1. Logon to windows OS, login using sify BB client.2. Hibernate your OS.(Dont Shutdown/restart as it will logout Sify BB Client)3. Boot into Linux/Solaris4. Configure your Network with the Sify IP settings. (configure static ip, subnet, gateway and DNS Servers).5. Thats it! Now you will able to connect to internet..It worked for me. Tested on Ubuntu..Just try it out..Will be Happy if it works for you..:yahoo:-Satya.

sifyconnect for linux works. why use alternate client?

maybe he did not contact the call center to disable those settings.when i was on sify and was testing out linux, i used to login from windows crash the client and then boot into linux 😀their java based client sucked.

yes I didn't contact sify customer care to change to old protocol..Thanks for informing about this..Will do it now... 😀
