The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Warner Bros. has signed Michelle MacLaren to direct Wonder Woman.

The report says that MacLaren will aid the still unnamed writers of the film in crafting its script.

While several female directors were considered for the job, the report suggests that MacLaren was always Warner Bros. first choice. MacLaren is known for her standout television work on critically acclaimed series Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones.

Wonder Woman will be played by Gal Gadot, and will be introduced to the DC Entertainment film universe first in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, opening March 25, 2016.

She will then headline her own film, Wonder Woman, releasing in theaters June 23, 2017.
