I am having two winsock files in my windows file.How to edit it.Read windows XP help and support but a bit confused.Help appreciated.

why u want to play with that file?i used to do it when I had shell account of vsnl-- students account.

I ofetn get page cannot be dispplayed error so wanna try this.B4 have already changed DNS but still often get errors.

well u can follow the following steps to see if there is a problem with ur Winsock

I have picked this from a website and edited it..

Start Msinfo32 from the Run line
Expand Components, then Network and click on Protocol

Look for any modification of the following line

  MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP] [/b]

IF there is any modification then it could indicate corruption or interference from third party software like firewalls or proxy software
