this is crazy stuff. i mean sure businesses are going to be ok with this. but for consumers, this is not an option.

Note: The price will double every consecutive year, for a maximum of three years. If you decide to jump into the program in Year Two, you'll have to pay for Year One too, as ESUs are cumulative.
This is the base license and will cost $61 USD per device for Year 1, similar to the Windows 7 ESU Year 1 price.[1]
 
By the second year it will cost more than the original OS license. I don't see why that should be an issue. By year third, you will have paid 3 times than what you pay for a new windows license. Wohooo.
 
based on reddit discussion on this, there are plans for extended support for consumers too at a cost. these are enterprise prices.
 
Many of our Development Environment software (IDE) are not yet compatible with Win 11, so we are still on Win 10.
Those people who are not in Software Development roles have got Win 11 installed on their machines.
