So I will be getting JIO fiber installed in a week. The JIO modem and the landline will sit on the ground floor and I want to install an additional router (D-Link 2750u from my old airtel broadband) on the first floor to get good coverage across that floor. I don't want to use wifi repeaters as they cause speed drops. I will connect both of them using a 15-20 meter lan cable. My question is 2750u is adsl+router so will it work or a router with WAN port will work? And if the D-Link will work, is it plug and play or are there additional steps to be done?

By default, the 2750 only supports ADSL connections. But, you can flash a different firmware that will enable the 4th LAN port to act as a WAN port. In your case, you could simply connect the LAN cable from JIO to a LAN port in 2750U and it should work as a wired repeater.
