Will 300R2u UTSTAR modem will work for airtel connection

I am using BSNL BB connection and have few issues after I changed my residence.. Rightnow I am thinking of moving to airtel since they too have a similar plan.. My only question is , since I bought this BSNL modem, I would like to use for my airtel connection too.. Will UTSTAR 300R2U modem work for Airtel?. If yes, then I can go with Airtel and avoid modem rental charges from airtel.

Yes. Select VPI/VCI 1 _32 etc .
I think now, in Airtel modem rent is not charged for most tariff plans , but they ask for a security deposit.
Please verify.
