why cant i connect 2 ADSL routers

hi I have two D-Link 502 T routers at my place. One is placed in one room and the other in another. All the rooms have telephone lines. I have realized that when i connect both the routers at the same time,the ADSL light goes off.As soon as I remove one of the routers from the plug point the ADSL light comes back on the other.Why cant i connect 2 ADSL routers on one single MTNL telephone line.
 
because only one can authenticate itself to the internet at a time.. what you could do is use one router to connect to the internet and connect a LAN cable from one router to the other , and use the second as a hub .,. dont dial from the second router..
 
you cant authenticate the same account at the same time.
