my friend gets that GPRS thing (for use with computer) from Airtel at 5Rs a day! Unlimited usage! Limited Speeds between 32-48 kbps! Worse than dial up i mean!

you can surf using wap, just dont tell airtel about it.😛

i could do that by connecting my laptop through the O2. i was online the whole time i was in Roaming in Delhi.

I would be very happy if you could tell me how to do so. You may PM me if you want. I searched the net but everywhere I could only find info for using gprs to connect to net from pc. Nothing about wap. How exactly do you use the wap gateway to connect to the net from PC?

Thanks in advance,
Stan.

I have a Nokia 3660. I also have my friend's Nokia 6600 if that might help...

Is it possible???? It would be great if it is! (whatever the speeds may be...).

Thanks in advance,
Stan.

here is a PDF file from Nokia itself and i will ask my friend how he does that on his phone.

here is another guide.

It would be better if you use a blue tooth connectivity for this connection so you wont have to mess around with wires.

got another page.

Finally I got some success... Installed the BT modem and set the options and stuff. I can get the phone dialing *99***#1 with a D symbol next to call, but it connects immediately after it starts connecting... And, no connection getting established. Where is the mistake?

I use the Access Point Name as airtelwap.com in nokia phone and modem options in pc

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Stan.

if you do not use a mobile phone like me, and if you have pacenet in your area - dialup speed + unlimited download = Rs 248 a monthFor me, internet in india equates to just email and chat. Forget downloading!
