wifi was standardized in 1999 but broadband was not there in India at that time.Was it 200405 or later when wifi routers started to sell and people installed in thier homes?
mine was Cisco ,forgot the model,but was in 2004.infact i bought a laptop because my cousin gifted me a wifi router..naal mila isi liye ghoda khareeda.
2004-2005 wrt54g v2.0:-D simply because openwrt was a hot project in freenode irc back in 2004. didnt have a laptop, but had wifi router and playing with mips and arm embedded stuffs started.
