While it is true about the 120 ONTs for GPON; no one actually uses it due to reasons like.
- Since GPON itself is a very chatty network where it broadcast all the data to all the ONTs, and it is up to the ONT itself to choose their own correct data.
- GPON tech have a bandwidth limits; hence aren't really used in enterprise level.
- 10GPON while it coexists on the same fiber; it cannot be used unless their compatible hardware on both directions.
- GPON encapsulates Ethernet and not the other way around.

in fiber,slow speeds are not due to cable but rather olt capacity,a fiber can carry more than 10gbps speed,bottleneck is olt.suppose olt is for 1gbps and connections require more bandwidth than that,so u will get packet loss and speed issue.cable is not the issue olt is issue.
olt's are expensive and company's dont want to spend on it if connections are active and can watch youtube video.

when airtel came into my area,they were providing full speed like 120/120 and no packet loss in peak time,ont was showing LIGHT -21 dbm and after sometime when people took connections then the speed degraded and now i get only 40 mbps in peak time and packet loss in games.
light is still -21dbm.
only 20% of us check speeds or play games on it with packet loss graph and experience issues,other 80% is happy, never checks speed and just scroll reels and watch youtube,ott's.they are happy with that.so company just ignores 20% of customers.

tried warp+,even cloudflare for teams version,nordvpn but doesnt change anything.
this might be my last month of airtel then ill go with my previous isp,they made plans cheap 200mbps for 699,paying less is better as now there's no differentiation b/w airtel and my previous isp.i switched because of speed but now this one started having same issue
