Hi guys, Can u please tell me whats the difference between the Bridge mode over PPPoE mode???? Which one is better and why? Thanks in advanceBinod 🙂

pls search this forum. its already discussed.

Simple answer....

[*]If you haveunlimited plan configure the router in PPPoE mode (Always on)
[*]If you have limited plan configure the router in bridge mode (connect on demand)
[/list]Its as simple as this.

The PPPoE has certain advantages of setting up NAT, IP filtering, etc.. One more advantage is you can connect this mode in always on mode as well as you an connect when you need, without turning on&off the modem.1.) provide incorrect login details in the modem. So that Internet is not connected when the modem is turned on.2) Create a new internet connection in the computer with correct login details.and you can connect/disconnect from the computer whenever you want, with modem always turned on.

PPPoe has lots of advantages over bridge mode..PPpoE supports multiple connectivity. it s more secure one...where bridge mode less secured.. virus problem occurs more for bridge connection..

the benefit of bridge mode is that usage can be regulated though the modem is on as the connection is made from ur pc dialer, scheduling such a connection is very simple and yes .. all the ports are opened ..so no port forward issues... if u have a good firewall like comodo, u don't have to worry about security issues.
