200 GB maxtor 16 mb cache ATA/133

Which one do you prefer Sata or ATA ( ata is cheap ) ?
Are the rates good and worth buying?
Are the hd's with 8 mb cache much slower than 16 mb cache ?

Sellers have pretty good 98.6 positive feedback in ebay

May i ask you what your configuration is like.Serial ATA is a relaively newer technology, obiviously its better,it boasts higher transfer interface.Im not sure if segate will service the maxtor drives, maybe someone can clarify that.Cache is always helpful, but dont expect huge performance increase though.

Then ,make sure that you mobo supports SATA 300 and if possible get a mobo with NCQ support also.and i forgot to say,the first drive in your list is clearly superior as you can see,and it has NCQ ,it helps to increase performance. The only thing that should concern you should be warranty/service/support.

Don't bother with buying HD's from abroad, for the simple reason that warranties may not apply. There is *ZERO* import duty charged on HD's anyways. You would need to knock the price down with your local vendor.
