Voice/Audio Posting in forum possible?

I haven't come across such thing in any forum so far, but wondered if it is possible for users to record comment to be 'posted' in their "Own voice" (Through mobile recorder or Sound recorder in MS Window) & upload in desired thread. The uploaded voice file then can be played like online music or 'News Audio' played on 'Times of India' site.I have no idea if it is possible, but if at all it is possible it may add new dimension to our views on particular topics (& also let others know how we speak). BTW server may get heavily loaded by these audio files.
 
of course u can always do youtube or any other service 😀 for full effect!

A facility to upload pictures text doc files etc DIRECT to IBF badly needed.
Many links are lost/deleted after sometime in Image Shack, Rapid share etc.

After a Google search, when an old thread is accessed
mostly all links will be missing.

Example @onlytest posted links for ZXdsl 831Aii all deleted in RS.

This will improve IBF website hits/access rating also.
 
For text/doc files, we can use google docFor images, flickr/picasa can be used, may be google doc wud support too.Audio/video, use youtubethis wud save space and forum bandwidth.
 

i added support for uploading files on the wiki... of course google docs is also available. and shoutbox like thing is now available on the top of the forum!

can Shoutbox be more simpler.. just the user name and then the shout... like that kind..
only Registered members can VIew the shoutbox and Post...

Not everyone has unlimited D/L or NU ( free for me Airtel upto 2Mbps speed ).

Post 10 link may cross 50 hits !

i have avoided enabling file upload on the forum so as to maintain the size of the database. it becomes a hassle for me to backup all the junk files that would be uploaded on the forum if file uploading is enabled.as for the shoutbox. i am again avoiding a forum based shoutbox system that can go kaput with software updates. i am keeping the google powered box for the time being hoping it would see updates making it more usable in the coming days.
 
forum wud bcome lot more interesting wid this feature for sure !!:thumb:
 
file hosting is not going to help anyone. shoutbox has uses but it tends to become a place for spam.
