Jio does not use GSM.

We don't know which secret coalition they were talking about but Jio is a member of GSMA and Indian cellular operators thing, whatever the name is.

I think its COAI.
But there was also a group of GSM operators which included only GSM operators, and CDMA operators (like Tata Docomo and Reliance ADAG) were not members.
That GSM group initially lobied strongly against Jio when it was providing service for free for several months.

Lol it's shittier.. their data topups are for fixed validity so it may exhaust even before your current plan expires, whereas Airtel is providing data top for for unlimited days ( obviously up till the current plan lasts)

Most Vi data topups come with their independent validity and does not require any base plan to work. Also, As long as net recharge is made before expiry of validity, any unused data is carried forward. Neither Jio nor Airtel gives this benefit.

@pachabhut what would be the validity of data pack of Rs251 ( 50gb for 28days ) if unlimited pack ( Rs399) is already running.
Would it be same as unlimited pack validity ?

If Rs379 pack is already running with Validaty of 30 days left , recharging with Rs2399 ( 1.5gb per day ) would get queued or start immediately ?

The two will have independent validity and run parallel. However, data will be first charged against 399 pack and only additional use will be charged to 251 pack.
