Vodafone likely to buy YOU Broadband for Rs 400 crore - The Economic Times

Vodafone India will soon buy You Broadband, a cabled Internet company for around Rs 400 crore, said two people familiar with talks. The companies have been in talks for the last three months, and documents are now being drawn up to finalize the acquisition, said a third person.

I like the Vodafone service for my phone. I just hope they don't add some kind of shitty FUP to the high-speed plans.

Been using YOU BB for close to a year now has been the best ISP i have used, plans are expensive compared to other ISPs but i have been happy as i haven't registered a single complaint until now.

I've used You BB for several years but lately there have been several outages that have rendered it unusable in crucial times.

I'm okay with their plans. Their CC is generally good and responsive. Not sure what the purchase by Vodafone will mean to existing users. Will they raise tariffs? I hope not.

So it seems only now they have gotten approval from the FIPB: FIPB approves Vodafone's proposal to acquire 100% stake in YOU Broadband - MediaNama so that's why such a long time for YOU broadband to change to Vodafone brand.

I guess Modi gormint was contemplating disbanding FIPB for making such deals faster and for the whole "Make in India" drama.

I've have been using YOU Broadband for more than 4 years, working fine with expected speed. I hope Vodafone acquiring YOU Broadband will definitely add value to their service.
