Not sure whether this has been posted in these forums earlier.

Vodafone has launched new plans for Vodafone Mobile Connect in India. Take a look at:
Vodafone Mobile Connect | Latest EDGE Technology | Vodafone GPRS Roaming

What is of interest to me is a new plan in which you get 100 MB free data for monthly rental of Rs.250.

This is a great compromise for those who didn't have usage more than 100 MB per month but till now were forced to pay Rs.499 per month for 500 MB data.
The base plan of Rs.199 was also useless.

new plan for prepaidRs 47 bonus card5p/10kb for 30 days

Rs 47 bonus card

5p/10kb for 30 days

This Looks Good..Why do we need GPRS on the Go..Check Scraps, Reply Mails or Tweet.
but y this Rs 47/-
Rental is already "0"

limited plans are shit. 100MB limit is too low these days, limit should be 5GB or more. i use normally ~100MB per day.presently bsnl @199/- per month unlimited or aircel @99/- unmlimted are best

Though I admire Vodafone network in Mumbai (Mobile service market leader in Mumbai is Vodafone and in India - Airtel)....what I hate about them (Vodafone) is - poor customer care at stores, always the last to launch plans (most times), spend money like crazy on branding and only an Airtel can inspire / wake-up Vodafone to launch competitive plans. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about GPRS since it is very expensive on Vodafone. Moreover their charges should be per kb and not per 10 kb - many people are getting ripped off from Vodafone India due to this sort of billing on GPRS - since you are billed in tranches of data flowing per 10kb. The same way they bill you completely per minute although you may have spoken for few seconds only.Hopefully 3G will be launched this century (saying this way since it has been delayed for many years now) and thanks to delayed decision as always - we are already many years behind compared to other countries in launching 3G.Vodafone says 'Happy to Help', but sadly it doesnt mean it - looks good on their Ads only - the poor pug should file a case for ruining its image 😀

aircel 98/- unlimited still rules

Aircel unlimited plan is only works on default browser not on opera mini and also other applications like nimbuzz, fring, google maps will not work.So it is USELESS

This plan is not listed on their website. Nor in their online recharge for bonus cards. Is it available in Mumbai?

you can use your phone to connect internet on laptop/desktop
i've seen it, when my N70 music was used with USB cable i got 50kbps but when i connected through Bluetooth, I got shocking 130kbps through Aircel.

you would need to use PC Suite to connect your aircel to internet.

I tried for 3 days plan earlier, but now i've paid Rs.98/- as it would be helpful if i needed a backup connectivity in emergency or on move.

Rs.98/- is nothing as compared to charges i paid for years on my RIM PCMCIA data card.

Aircel is certainly picking up.
