i was actually expecting to receive new network/carrier settings from Vi upon changing DNS. didn't happen though...

Perhaps getting a new sim card could help if yours is an relatively old sim. Nothing goes in trying except ₹25 bucks, I believe.

Did you try connecting to pc with iTunes installed? Launch iTunes and it will prompt for carrier upgrade. It should be 46.1 to support Vi’s VoWifi.

VoWiFi is enabled for my Idea Sim on iPhone 8 Plus.
On OnePlus 7 network name was displayed as Idea, on iPhone its displaying as "Vi India".
After sim was inserted, some carrier update happened OTA, so I guess VoWiFi is enabled.

Added Punjab to the list of supported states.

Vi WiFi calling service is available to all Vi prepaid and postpaid customers in Maharashtra & Goa, Kolkata, UPW, Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP East, Rest of Bengal, Delhi and Mumbai.
