Vodafone Idea: Vi is working with Cisco to design and build a cost-efficient network architecture to drive greater speed to market with emerging opportunities in 4G & 5G, cloud, and the Internet of Things (IoT), an official statement said.

Even though initial cost of Cisco can be on higher side but their firmware are well polished and even bug fixes are very well tested. Hence the maintenance cost reduces drastically.

I don’t think Cisco has any 5G hardware anyways. The article mentions some software mumbo jumbo.

internationally Nokia and Ericsson seem to be the go to choices for 5G hardware for companies that want to avoid Chinese companies. And Tata have done something as well

They will be using few of Cisco 24 or 48 port switches for linking towers and thats it. 5G Upgrade ftw !! Yeah baby !!

They are also automating their 4g network. If I get better pings after their network automation then only their deal is a win else it is marketing in the name of automation.

Vodafone Idea: Reliance Jio and Airtel had recently started their respective 5G trials in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. While Jio is trialing its own 5G technology, Airtel is using Ericsson's gear in Gurgaon using 3.5GHz band.

5G isn’t only about mobile data. There are lots of uses of 5G. Even if Vi fails as a consumer company, their spectrum and infra can be used for V2X and M2M 5G applications for enterprises.

Network testing is performed in isolation. So it is level playing field for all 3 telcos. And VI has clearly won the testing phase.
