Guys from Janai, Hooghly, West Bengal those who are thinking before
investing on 3G whether 3G is supported or not in your area, please be
informed that Vodafone 3G is available in Janai, Hooghly, West Bengal.
My TataPhoton+ signal and speed was irritating so I was finding an
alternative and saw 2G vodafone is much slower than Tata Photon+
1xCDMA service in Naldighi, janai. So I though of 3G dongle but was
not sure whether 3G is available in Janai or not in. I tried to search
in internet to see if any friend from Janai has posted his/her 3G
experience in the mentioned area but found nothing.
Vodafone and Airtel customer care was not sure about the 3G coverage
in Janai. As I was thinking of an alternative of Tata Photon+ so
invested in Dongle with highly uncertainty of 3G coverage in Janai.
Good news is -> Vodafone 3G in Naldighi (1.5km from Janai Bazzar) is
100 times better than Tata Photon+.
In my dongle I was listing the availability of 3G networks in my area
and found that only reliance and vodafone 3G are there in the list but
all other operators having EDGE network coverage in my area.
The cost of the 3G and comparison with Tata photon+
1. The cost of the Vodafone dongle - Rs.1401/- with 1GB 3G data free.
Valid for 1month.
2. second month onwards Rs.251/- for 1GB and Rs.450/- for 2GB. In
tataphoton+ I pay Rs.506/- per month (including tax) for 2GB and speed
is 1x CDMA.Signal is not reliable.
3. You can unlock vodafone dongle and use any GSM 3G SIM.
4. I am getting signal strength of 2 bars out of 5 and speed is
1.5Mbps (tested in AIRTEL Speed Test - AIRTEL Broadband Speed Test Online | Delhi Speed Test Airtel Meter | Net Speed Test | AIRTEL 3G Speed Test | Mumbai AIRTEL Internet Speed Test).
5. Realtime Youtube streaming is possible which was not possible in
TataPhoton+ in Naldighi, Janai.
