Although MTNL promises an upload speed of 512kbps we never get that. My modem status page shows that my upload stream rate of 259kbps. In that case I expect upload speeds of up to 32KBps which has never been the case from day one. Below is the link to a snapshot of my modem status page. Please give it a look and tell me if there is some parameter that is above or below acceptable range. I am a novice on this matter but I feel the upstream margin of -15db is abnormal. Kindly elaborate on the same. http://imageshack.us%5Dhttp://img234.imageshack.us/img234/6246/linksysam300statusvj5.jpg%5B/URL%5D %5BURL=http://g.imageshack.us/img234/linksysam300statusvj5.jpg/1/%5Dhttp://img234.imageshack.us/img234/linksysam300statusvj5.jpg/1/w812.png http://g.imageshack.us/img234/linksysam300statusvj5.jpg/1/

If you are on DSL NU 849 plan, the upload speed which is mentioned on MTNL's site for this plan is 256 kbps and not 512 kbps as you said. But still your modem is syncing you at 259 kbps upstream which seems to be quite good.Your modem statistics are appreciable, especially the line attenuation. Even though I don't know why a negative sign is there before your upstream margin (I'm not an expert in this field), I personally feel that your line is ok.By the way, what upload speeds do you get?

Truly speaking torrent downloads don't always give you an accurate indication of your broadband bandwidth. It depends on many factors and the most important being from which host you download your file.

Same for when you seed others. Say if the host who is downloading from you has a 128 kbps connection, then the maximum upload speed which he/she can get is 16 KB/s.

If the torrent which you are downloading has a good "health" then chances are that you may utilize your full bandwidth of your broadband connection :thumb:.
