UTStar 300R2U : LAN + USB

I've been using the UTStar 300R2U for about 4 years now, using the LAN port. I've just applied for a UL MTNL plan so I'll be using my older rig only to DL. My question can I connect the LAN port on the UTStar to my new rig and at the same time connect the USB port of the UTStar to my old rig ?

a) and use both at the same time.
b) or, only use either one.

Tried using new comp with LAN port of UTStar and old comp with USB port of UTStar simultaneously. It works - can access net with both comps. BUT ... port forwarding works only with the LAN port of new comp ( 192.168.1.2 ). The USB port of old comp was assigned 192.168.1.4. Could not port forward on old comp. If I used only old comp and assigned 192.168.1.2 to the USB port, port forwarding worked. Any explanation ?

Got answer on another forum. Used different port number for utorrent on second comp. Port forwarding ok now.
