I got a BSNL broadband connection yesterday with the UTSTAR 300R2 Modem...1. I would like to bypass the sophesiticated features on the modem (for easier trouble shooting) such as the router...since I am using XP Home Networking at home.It would be great if I can connect the modem so that I get the WAN address directly on my PC and then use Windows XP PPOE connection to authenticate.. right now when the connection fails, I need to connect to the router which complicates things...I can then use windows networking to do a routing between the WAN and LAN ports.. as well as use the built in DHCPRight now, we are uisng the PPOE connection on the router
