This is insane. This week they started charging for BitTorrent Sync and now they are installing malware with uTorrent!

So I installed the latest version of μTorrent through the official website today and discovered what a mess it has become. Tried to install three crapware. Has multiple ads on the screen. Keeps on pushing to pay for it. Insane. Vuze is just so much better in comparison.

uTorrent 2.2.1 is the best version imo. Though ads etc in the newer versions can be removed, AFAIK.

I moved to qBittorrent. This seems to be no nonsense client for windows as of now.

For Ubuntu I stick to the default Transmission

Qbittorent for me. Simple and easy interface. Utorrent gives my laptop BSOD constantly.

@Nishant There is no official portable version but Portable apps does maintain one - qBittorrent Portable | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives

I have stopped downloading torrents directly via clients due to privacy and copyright issues. Using Alldebrid for more than 6 months now and directly download them via IDM. Speed is super fast and you could easily cross 5Mbps if your broadband supports it.

They offer cheap plans as compared to filestream.me or Furk.net

why do people even bother with this crap anymore? qbittorrent is a viable alternative for utorrent if anyone is looking
