Ut-300r2u- Need Help!

I have been using UT-300R2U for the past few months. A week back, it suddenly stopped working. The LEDs are all flashing normally, but I am getting the msg" Error 678: Remote server not responding". My old dial-up connection is working fine. The BSNL guys gave the same old excuse-" as long as the LEDs are flashing right, its not our problem. Your computer caught a cold" 🙁 Guys pls help me out. I have re-configured the router a thousand times, but still no response. Do you suggest re-installation of tht OS?Currently I am using XP and connect thru USB port.
 
if the Modem has a LAN port , pls use it thru the LAN .

there is no need to reinstall the OS . pls check the
