Upgradng firmware using motive.bsnl

Just came across some topics in the forum about motive.bsnl.co.in about upgrading the firmware of my Utstarcom router. I went to the website,some softwares were needed to be downloaded, as listed and information seems to be a bit ambiguous as to how to to do the upgrade.

First of all what is motive.bsnl.co.in?

How is it related to upgrading the firmware?

What applications do I need to install, how and what procedure is needed to be followed to upgrade the firmware ?

It is a BSNL site to promote their self care software. Members has reported problem using the software. Better not to attempt it.
