Unble to connect to internet thru Ubuntu 8.04

Hi All, I am unable to connect to internet thru Ubuntu 8.04. Below are details: Router: UTStarcom UT-300R2U (type -1)Ubuntu version: 8.04 I enabled DHCPPPPoE is already installed my system Whenever i ping any ip address, i get err. msg. 'Host not found' My system is a dual boot system with XP already in it. Please advise..

I use only Xp Pro sp2.
try in XP.
UT-300R2U ADSL MODEM MENU
IE 192.168.1.1 admin admin VPI/VCI 0 35 id without @ bsnl.in Password
In computer TCP/IP obtain Ip address automatically.
In DNS enter 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222

Ping 192.168.1.1 your default gateway. for test.
