Thanks. So in your case wrt post #27 point (1) works w/o a problem but in case of (4) how does it work like in column 1 or like in column 2. Sorry to keep asking for clarifications as I want to point out to Samsung if there are faults in their update.

The problem (1) I mentioned in post #27 above seems to have been solved. For solution see Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830I getting Android 2.3.6 update in India - Page 2 - Android Forums post #67 & #69. This problem is solved now I have to see how long the battery lasts after this full charge.

When I went to the service center the engineer there told me that after typing *#1234#
Showed me this on my phone
PDA: S5830DDKQ8
PHONE: S5830DDKQ8
CSC: S5830DDKQ7
He told me this is the latest s/w (even though I had these problems only after updating OTA). Can others who have updated from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6 please confirm if you have the same display after trying out the code AND if you have the same problems as I have listed in post #27 above. I was told by this engineer that points (1) & (4) are now normal for this ver of firmware for the other points I am still testing the phone but I have a strong suspicion that these guys are giving me BS as Samsung India has not released a change log for India for this ver.

All the Abt phone details are the same as yours.

I Haven't done extensive testing As it's my wife's phone, but incoming sms ringtone & delivery report ringtone works fine.

And there are no apparent issues related to the update

Can you check which one of the below mentioned is the way it behaves.

In ver 2.3.4 When (a) notification ringtone was set thru setting->sound-> notification ringtone & (b) a separate (custom) incoming sms ringtone was set thru sms menu->settings->ringtone. Then (a) worked for delivery report & (b) worked for incoming sms. Which is correct & as it should be.

In ver 2.3.6 When (a) notification ringtone was set thru setting->sound-> notification ringtone & (b) a separate (custom) incoming sms ringtone was set thru sms menu->settings->ringtone. Now in this ver when (b) is set to ‘Default’ then for both incoming sms & delivery report the ringtone set in (a) works. But when I set a custom ringtone for incoming sms ie (b) then for both incoming sms & for delivery report the custom sms ringtone works.

Is any one facing this, I am not sure its a problem. Even Samsung Service center where I went for other problems were perplexed by it. If I gently shake my phone left to right when its facing upwards the vibrator toggles on or off. Is this only my phone or has any one also noticed it.
