most of the limitations are basically related to number of posts. i think they disappear after you have around 20 posts.
this is largely to prevent spammers from coming here and making a mess.
for a while we had problems with actual porn spam that was creating a nuisance. that's when i added these limitations.
as for facebook... i did not go through the entire details. i do not think i get any access to your facebook data... vB only uses basic details for account creation (user name, email address and profile picture?). i think facebook authentication page shows all the relevant details.
but i can access your general account details like user name, email address from the vB backend. like on any other CMS where you would register.
if you want to disconnect facebook, it is possible. if you want to change your user name, you would have to send me details and i would do the needful.
i added facebook integration because it made registration a faster experience. a lot more people join the forum. personally, i had preferred if vB used OpenID or similar services. but they only offer Facebook right now.
