Uber - New Delhi

Rs. 70 + Rs. 2 per minute + Rs. 20 per KM

Uber - Bangalore

Rs. 80 + Rs 2 per minute + Rs. 18 per KM

Possible models: Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord.

So I am guessing only targeting the premium segment right now. Still cool.

Prices are quite amazing except for the Rs. 2 per minute tax which is horrible for India. Both Delhi NCR and Bangalore are congested cities which means that you are going to be paying while you are stuck in traffic jams. I do not think it is associated with waiting time alone.

Mobile Apps: Google Play | Apple App Store

Stupid tweet. Sounds like a paid endorsement rather than a good experience tweet.

We want everyone to take advantage of the Uber experience. If you’re a new user, use the promo code “blrlaunch” and enjoy Rs. 250 of Uber credits on us to take a ride in Bangalore. Insert the code under “Promotions” in your Uber app. Download the Uber app for iPhone or Android or go to m.uber.com. You can also redeem your discount at http://t.uber.com/blrlaunch.

Uber is still in test phase, so only limited services are available. But don’t worry, we’re working hard and adding additional rides every day to ensure you get a comfortable, reliable and safe ride ‘round the clock. Haven’t used Uber yet? You can enter the promo code “UBERDelhiLaunch“, to enjoy 2 free rides up to Rs 500, each! Don’t forget to check out the Uber Delhi twitter handle to see what the team is currently up to. We would love to hear from you, and always encourage feedback, so drop us a note at supportdelhi@uber.com if you need anything.

Coupon code was accepted fine. But account creation did not work as the app did not accepted my credit card :

Multiple transactions. But account creation fails.

I am not comfortable with the idea of paying per minute but the app is quite nice.

From what I have heard... Do not contact them if their promised arrival time is very close to a deadline. I mean if you are in a hurry, their estimated time might not be a risk worth taking.

But what if you take this cab late night. Since all other cabs charges almost Rs28 including night charges. So this will be better alternative

I think it is still cheaper than any other cab service if you look at the premium car offerings. I checked and most cab companies charge 25 rupees even for Toyota Innova. Uber is using Camry, Merc and BMWs in their fleet.
Even if you add cost of time travel... It comes to just Rs. 120 for an hour.
