#ChennaiGives with Uber & MRT1 | Chennai

On the occasion of United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Charity, we are teaming up with our friends at Madras Round Table and other local charities to make donating school supplies quick and convenient.

#ChennaiGives – Clean out your closets and let Uber take care of the rest

This Saturday, September 5, with the touch of a button, a driver will come to your house, pickup bags of clothing, books, school supplies that you are willing to donate and deliver them directly to a local charity center — all for free!
Bag up items such as clothing, books, sports goods and school supplies (scroll down for the complete list) that you’re willing to donate.
Open your Uber app on Saturday, September 5.
Slide over to the ‘uberGIVE’ option at the bottom of the screen and hit request
If your request is successful, an Uber will arrive to pick up your items and drop-off your donation at a local charity free of charge.

All donations must be bagged for drivers to accept your donation
Please keep in mind that drivers can’t leave vehicles unattended, so we request you to bring your bagged items out to meet your driver when he arrives.
We expect demand to be super high so please be patient!
