Twitter Lite is a fast, data-friendly way for Vodafone customers to stay up to date on the T20 cricket season | Twitter Blogs

As part of the global launch of Twitter Lite today, we are thrilled to partner with Vodafone in India to provide live cricket updates via a specially curated Twitter timeline to their smartphone customers as the T20 cricket season kicks off. Cricket is one of the most talked about topics in India with over 10.6 million Tweets about the Indian Premier League (IPL) during last year’s season. This special Twitter timeline will feature top Tweets from cricket leagues, teams, players, and commentators to give cricket fans among Vodafone’s over 200 million subscribers across the country a compelling reason to use Twitter Lite to get real-time info and commentary about this popular sport.

Speaking at the launch in Delhi today, Avneesh Khosla, Executive Vice President, Products & Services, Vodafone India said, “We are happy to partner Twitter to offer this innovative service to our customers. It will enable our customers to access a selection of curated Twitter content in their area of interest – first with cricket and more to come across other genre. Throughout this 10th season of IPL, our customers can look forward to enjoying some great content using Twitter Lite on Vodafone SuperNet.”

Here’s how Twitter Lite works for the Vodafone customised cricket timeline experience:

If you are a cricket fan on Vodafone, you will receive an SMS alert with a link to the special curated timeline on Twitter Lite where you can get live updates on the T20 cricket season.
