TriB- Woes & Woes...

Ok. Im in Delhi & i got TRiB 590NU plan. Earlier had ADSL 128Kbps 750Mb Limit-wala Plan.
Issues that im having:

1) It disconnects. A lot. Almost in every session!! Dunno y it happens.. Earlier i used LAN for connectin Router & PC. Was havin this prob so connected thro USB. but prob persists!! Any ideas ppl?? ( System format done b4 changeover)

2) In d Router Configuration page, there's a " Obtain Lease for" Option. Its set at 3600Secs. Shud i change it to longer?? Tho i hav noticed that d Lease is automatically renewed for another hr...

3) Wat d hell is wrong wid MTNL's usage billing ??! c d attahced screenshot!
My pop's gonna kill me if he sees d 9500 Rs. bill !

Some1 said that u shud only look at d "ADSL MB remaining " column for correct usage..? is that true??
 
there's not much to worry dude...u can ignore that amount...even MTNL ppl don't have any idea what exactly that is...i tried to enquire, but no help...u're safe till u're "ADSL MB" is "not zero" and if u don't do much once it is "zero"...if u've done heavy downloading after it's been "zero" in the past, well, then i can't say much...regarding ur first point, i'll always suggest u to use "ethernet" port than USB...secondly, i don't have my router accessible right now, so can't say much...but as far i can recall, there's some option like "always connected"...select that and see if there's any change...

Im sticking to USB for now coz it lets me know d Data Usage details as "bytes sent/recd" instead of "packets sent/recd." !!

Also, one more thing.. i just cant access some sites, no matter wat! the sites are:

www.filemirrors.com
www.thinkdigit.com

I always get timed out on these.. while other sites open up normally..!
 
the choice is always urs dude!!!we're here just to suggest/share our experiences 😀

yes me too, I was not able to even open eBay at times but crrently able to open it,
also www.zdnetindia.com this one isn't opening the list can be long though.
My local friends using other internet connection (one is using Tata Indicom and other one using Airtel) are able to open them all.

Moreover even on complaining 3 times to their CC I got no satisfactory answer, this really hurts... perhaps there is no one who can help we MTNL users.
 
Hey coolbuddy! Seeing that u were so particular abt using the LAN port, i changed it from USB to Lan ! Lets c if it works somehow..!tell me some more tweaks..! im happy wid d speeds tho... but P2P speeds in Kazaa/WinMX r slower.. ~15-20kbps... how to incr. that..?
 

my personal exp with WinMX is always slow...i've left it 2 yrs back!!! 😉i don't use Kazaa, as it's a sh*tware...believe me...try others, like Ares or Limewire...Ares is the best i've encountered till date... 🙂
 
ARES just wont connect on MTNL.. !also, wats d final word on d 12am-8am Modem shutdown-restart routine..??
 
Ares has never given me any probs...i download around 250 MB just yesterday...and u don't really need to restart ur modem to avail the night unlimited thing...it's just advised so that u have ur records...

I have the same prob its showin 1223 mb used but adsl mb is showin 370
shd i call em up i dont wan tt em to send me a bill of 10k later on
please help
 
u sure can call up and enquire...but believe me it won't be helpful in any way 😉as far as ur query is concerned, till ur "ADSL MB" is showing some figure, u're safe... 🙂
 
I JUST CANT LOGIN TO YAHOO MAIL!! this happened 3-4 days ago too but i thot that it was due to that cable cut thing... Hasnt it been repaired till now..?? any1 else havin this prob..??
 
no probs as such at this end...there was a problem last week, but everything's back to normal now... 🙂

unbelievable it was apprently due to d MTU setting that i changed from 1400 to 1500. either that or it was coz of Zonealarm.. ! anyways its gone now..
One other doubt tho.. now some times i start surfin at around 11pm, just normal surfing, but no massive d/l.do that till around 12:20am..
then around 12:20 am i restart d comp & start d d/l for d nights..
Is that safe( u know coz of the 12-8 thing?)
i hope once i hav restarted; teh new -FREE d/l - session starts..??
