Train Waiting Ticket

I have waiting ticket and chart is prepared.
How much time before I can get confirmation before departure?
If it dont get confirmed, refund will be automatically done?

Is there entry to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station (New Delhi) from Sarai Kale Khan?

If the chart has been prepared, your ticket won't be confirmed anymore. You'll receive the refund in next few days.

You will get refund only if its e-ticket.

Otherwise you have to cancel it before train departure. i.e. normally within 4 hours after chart preparation.

If you dont cancel it - full amount will be forfeited.

PS: For paper ticket - you can now cancel online too (if u had provided mobile number while booking). In such cases you have to collect refund by next day.

What does Booking Status: W/L 78,RLGN means?

RLGN means Remote Location General Wailist.

Booking status means - u were 78th person who booked in waitlist. (this includes current + cancelled waitlist tickets)
Current status means - ur actual current status.

Booking status is always >= Current status

Say 10 people booked waiting list before you and out of this 3 cancelled (before you booked)

So your booking status will be 11 (10+1)
And your current status will be 8 (10-3+1)

I dont understand this, very confusing and did reservation for first time
I checked with official at reservation centre he said it's confirmed
I checked again with another official and it was confirmed.
I was happy othwerwise I have to take inter state bus

You have to see "current status" and not "booking status".

Last time I checked ie 3 to 4 days ago it was WL# 10

Today I checked the status WL#10 turn to RAC# 91:angry:

Err... RAC 91 is better than WL 10 (you have a confirmed ticket and can travel albeit not confirmed if sitting or will get a berth) ... Unless you are not clear what RAC means 😕

Yes WL means waiting list - its still not confirmed ticket. And you can not enter the train.

RAC means reservation against cancellation and its partially confirmed ticket. You are allowed to enter the train.

Even if you dont get "sleeper" seat - you will atleast get a "sitting" seat (those side window seats) where you can sit and travel
