TRAI slashes rates

Airtel 8 Mbps 'Unlimited'
So TRAI supposedly has paved the way for broadband subsribers to get cheaper rates... Anyone have any idea how it will actually effect consumers?

According to some articles, such as the following, it seems that the cut in rates will be translated to the end users...... but then again, I don't quite believe articles in the newspapers when they talk about broadband... e.g. they say that the average rate of a 256 kbps connection is Rs. 350 per month.... why can't we all just agree that packages limited by time or data transfer constraints are redundant?? :angry:

They might meean that u need to pay Rs350 per day 😛 for a real broadband servive if that exit over here .
 
I don't think TRAI's decision is going to have any effect on the Broadband companys' rates in India. They'll just earn extra profit for themselves.Although, I've heard Airtel is increasing it's plans. And, we all know how MTNL and BSNL are introducing plans with throwaway ratesHathway (a british telco with services in india also) has plans that are midway in prices but they are said to have HORRIBLE techsupport.
 
erm, if you recall... the 'A' in T.R.A.I stands for "authority" which TRAI DOES NOT HAVE!remember when they wanted unbundling of local loop to allow competitors to use govt. phone lines to be able to provide dsl as direct competition to BSNL/MTNL... they just said no to TRAI... hahaha what a joke...trai my @$$
 
At least they "TRAI-ed"... 😀
