TRAI may regulate HD Channel subscription rates

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) is planning to review the freedom given to direct-to-home service providers in deciding subscription charges for high definition channels.

Trai has not found much difference between SD and HD viewing experience, the source added. “There is also little difference in number of advertisements between the two,” the source said.

Viewing experience is surely different in SD and HD, but adverts are now almost in same quantity on HD as well as SD.
If they want to charge HD channels more, they should remove/minimise adverts.
