Location determination from IP is not always accurate when found using these free online services. And what can be done with the location in the form of a city/state anyway. Just logout and relogin after 10 minutes if you're a home Sify user and you will get a new IP and get the scanner off your back.

Personally, i dont care a damn about scanners. Just set your firewall to silently log these "incidents". Sometime ago, I had installed Snort. Its an Intrusion Detection System. I too was a bit "paranoid" about security back then. The logs I used to get indicated these were harmless script kiddies trying to scan for worm infected computers so they could try and take over them. I left the IDS in place for sometime until I upgraded my OS and made myself a router. The router has a pretty strict firewall and I do get scanned but nobody can break in. Just remember to update your OS when they release patches and dont pay any attention to "ping" or "scans" of your IPs... Trust me, my router is 24x7 and I get scanned probably 10 times a day.
