Samsung tried to sell its very own operating system called Tizen. But did not sell well. If Samsung develops a Tizen phone for $100 and give it for free with latest S series and Note Series phones, Tizen can sell 40 million phones a year. Given the fact that Samsung sells approximately 40 million of latest S series and Note series phones each year. Samsung has more than 60% profit margin in S & Note series phones. S9+ costs $350 to make but sells for $900. Create a Tizen phone for $100 and give it for free and profit does not hit very much.
