Tikona – Personal Router – Static IP – MAC address of LAN Port or WAN Port

Hello friends,

I have purchased static IP also from Tikona. Problem is that the technical engineer of Tikona asks me –

“Which Port would you like to bind your Static IP”

Also they ask me whats the MAC Address of Router –
Pls see attached screenshot –
As you can see Internet port - 74:44:01:94:E0:79
Whereas LAN Port has mac address - 74:44:01:94:E0:78

Which is router’s mac address?

I have no idea.

I know we have two ports in router (mine is Netgear 300N Model) –
1. WAN (Internet) Port
2. LAN Port

Could anyone really help in explaining me –
1. Which one is router’s mac address
2. Static ip should be binded to LAN or WAN Port

Pls guide Thank You

P.S. I intend to use DVR for CCTV for remote viewing later

Tikona should only worry about the WAN port. If they bind it to the LAN port your router will not function.

You bought static IP. So, they asked for the mac address but normally, they give you CPE(Ruckus/Nano station) to which they bind your account whether it's static IP or Dynamic ip. How can you give you a list of MAC address ?? I mean according to their tariff, one account is allowed to connect limited number of systems like 2,3, or sometimes 6 if you have high speed tariff.

I am not understanding why they have asked for MAC id. They can bind it to their CPE mac.
As you have shown screen shot of NETGEAR, you have connected it after tikona CPE, right?

This is not the big issue you should worry about. You can give any MAC to ISP. You can enter any MAC manually while connecting to Internet. Most of routers offer custom MAC option in which you can enter the your custom MAC.
