Thunderbird from Mozilla Messaging

^Haha... Very true

Tunderbird release 3 doesn't support "lightning"! Using Sunbird for appointments and tasks!!

I have a free Yahoo e-mail a/c with some 500mb of emails and attachments.I want to save all these to a email client so that i can view them offline. For this i downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird.

But inorder to use Yahoo POP i have to upgrade to Yahoo Plus which costs me money.

Is there any way i can download all my emails into email client free of cost..

You may try this:
1) First signup with gmail
2) In Gmail settings - accounts - import mail account
3) Setup yahoo account.*
4) Let GMail import ur emails
5) Use Gmails pop feature to download mails

*Only thing i have not verified is if requires POP support in yahoo. But gmail have not mentioned that on their website, so u cud just give it a try.

other option is to use Welcome to TrueSwitch. Ensure a successful move to your new Internet account

3rd option is this tip that i read somewhere on internet. so u can try this too.
You can forward Yahoo email without having a Yahoo Plus account for FREE. Just change your location setting to Yahoo! Asia. Then your mail settings will allow you to forward or use POP.

no if trueswitch can do that, gmail can too, because afterall gmail wants ppl to migrate to its service.
