i guess there is no incentive when the local regulations are not very strict. at least they are giving two airbags as standard these days iirc.
the same companies would ship much better versions of the same car to european market. but it's likely they would cost a whole lot more if they were to be sold locally. and these hatchbacks are already getting way too expensive.
Altroz (a very safe car) has the potential to beat Swift and Baleno, but its 3 cylinder engine is tuned to deliver maximum fuel economy and is very laggy. Used to have a half second delay in throttle response.
I'm pretty sure if they increase the price and deliver performance, people are still going to buy it.
when i had the fiat, i preferred to travel to tata service center greater noida because i found a great service engineer there. both service centers in gurgaon were shit.
