Everything We Know About Disney+, The Mouse House’s Upcoming Streaming Monster << Rotten Tomatoes – Movie and TV News

UPDATE (12/12/18): The cast, producers, and directors of Jon Favreau’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian have been officially announced. Pedro Pascal (Narcos) and Gina Carano (Deadpool) headline the series, alongside costars Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), and Nick Nolte (Affliction). Directors include Dave Filoni (who is also executive producing), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

It's been revealed that Disney has invested $100 million into The Mandalorian.

Announced last year, The Mandalorian is a live action TV series that takes place in the same universe as the Skywalker saga. While the series won't directly feature Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader, we know it will take place after the events of Return of the Jedi and before The Force Awakens, the latter of which kicked off the latest trilogy with Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren.

Apparently, the show's main character will use an Amban phase-pulse blaster as his weapon of choice. This is the same weapon that Boba Fett was seen carrying in the Star Wars Holiday Special (which is a part of Star Wars history most people wish never happened).

Identified by their iconic armor, Mandalorians are multi-species warrior people from the planet Mandalore, the most famous of whom is Boba Fett.
