Testing Your Internet Line Connection

Since I have hotwire, and speeds are great and hardly disconnects I want to do an internet line test. I play counter strike and most of the time in the days, I lag in all servers, even the kawabonka server which is based in new delhi. Lagging is big time. What program can I use to derive statistics from and then tell my CTO about it. I want to get this fixed so I can play CS without lag, spikes, or jumpy pings.
 
I found the culprit to this problem. I should have never switched to ZoneAlarm. That was the issue, now that I'm back on sygate it's better.
