To be honest, NITI Aayog seems to have total disconnect with ground realities. How many farmers in India earn more than Rs. 2.5 lakh after deductibles? Even if taxes were introduced for agricultural income, I don't see how it'll augment treasury in any tangible way.

NITI Aayog has no vision, no aim. What it is currently doing is worse than than the entire history of Planning Commission. Planning Commission at least had well defined goals and targets that were to be achieved in 5 years.

yeah, rich rural farmers provide grass root support and money to almost all political parties. they're also the ones to get coveted posts like panchayat sarpanch etc which help illegal sand mining business, rooster fights etc. not gonna happen
