Guys! This is beyond comprehension! I had contacted the helpline on 12th morning for assistance at 1860 425 6633 as my HD STB had malfunctioned. The problem is that I can't view HD channels in HD anymore. The STB refuses to change from SD mode to HD which can be done from the 'Setting' menu. This was explained to the executive there and promised that an engineer would be sent within 24 to 48 hours.
So far so good! But now it's more than 48 hours and I've yet to see hair or hide of an engineer to check out the system. So I rang again and the exec checked out the work order for the status of the complaint.
I was pretty much shocked when I was told that the status shows case closed!!! And I wasn't even informed!! I kept waiting like an idiot for someone from TS to show up!! On asking how it was so when nobody had come to check the system, I was told that the engineer had shown in the work order there that there was probably something wrong with the TV set and nothing to do with the HD STB!!!
What the bl00dy heck?? I have a Panasonic 42in plasma HDTV and watch movies on blueray on my TV in real HD!! And these clowns at Tata Sky say that there's something wrong with my TV and nothing wrong with the HD STB without even checking it out? Jeeez!
And this isn't the first time it's happened. The bottom line is that Tata Sky service sucks to hell and high heaven. For the newbies who are thinking of buying DTH, my advice is not to go in for Tata Sky! Their service is terrible and the technology outdated! And it has the least number true HD channels!
I'm seriously thinking of migrating to Airtel or Videocon.
