we have already discussed this several times. Tata Sky cannot switch to mpeg4 unless they replace all the STBs already delivered to their customers.

Which they are trying hard for ppl to shift to TS+ which has MPEG 4 and then maybe switch as they will have lesser stb's to replace...They have already come out with MPEG 4 stb's now
 
and that tells everyone here... do not get tempted by offers to upgrade to Tata Sky plus for cheap. coz one day soon they would have to provide the updated STB for cheaper or free.

Yes Tata Sky in MPEG4 should be replaced at no cost.

how do you know ts+ is capabale of receiving mpeg4?
 

please explain what you meant by that.

There is a need for Tata Sky as to why I assume TataSky will soon go into MPEG4 . The STB with MPEG 4 transmission may be the one offered to subscribers from then on. They may ask the existing subscribers to exchange the old STB and hope all are replaced for free.

Can you kindly post the STB specifications for us? Lets see where it is said that they can receive Mpeg4.

Good reply short and crisp with a very valid point :thumbsup: For him Tatasky dth is another thing and stb is another thing. So he will say if we pay Rs.4999 to Tatasky they will give you one free STB! :rofl:
 
It is clearly mentioned in the website that Tata Sky+ has MPEG4. As for Tata Sky if they are updated to MPEG4 they should exchange it for free.
