Tata Sky HD + AVR , 5.1 Problem

Hi,
Recently I have upgraded my System with :Tata Sky HD + Yamaha RX 375 AVR + Bostan Acoustic 5.1 speakers.
My connections are : STB to AVR via DAC's optical cable, STB to old LCD via HDMI,
I have calibrated speaker system through Yamaha YPAO.
Now Problem is : there no surrond sound (or very - very little when listen with ear on rear speakers) while watching Star Movie HD or Movie now HD or any other HD channel, but front sound effect and staging is good.
What's wrong...Thnx
 
I think only few channels transmit in 5.1
Try Movies Now or any one channel that you know should be transmitted in 5.1
Also in my DishTV STB, there is a setting to enable 5.1 or convert to Stereo. Check for such a setting on the STB.
 
Ypp all settings has already been confirmed, optical out is DD, AVR setting are gud. I wonder Avatar on star movie hd sound dull, while Billu on Sony Hd was great. Ques:1- if output on STB is set for DD than who is decoding signals, STB or AVR? 2- Does receiver on the Disc has any roll in Hd stb becus mine disc n receiver is of standerd ver. Only Stb is Hd.I must add that sound is room filling ie all skr are participating, but the effect and pin point thingi is missing (in Avtar)
 
On your AVR, have you tried setting it to Surround Decode - Movie Settings? I have a Yamaha RX-A810 myself, though I dont care for the sound from the STB.
 
So how are the effects via STB, are U getting well separated sound from rear?Can U speaker dist, and their level as set by YPAO. Mine levels are on +db side, the AVR seller says that it should on -tive side for my 10 * 16feet non acqoustic room with satelite spk ( above). Also subwoofer dist is always wrong as per ypao.
