I heard from neighbors that they got a call from Tata Sky for upgrading to a 85cm dish free of cost. They had not complained about reception quality or requested an upgrade in any way, seems to be just random.
Did anyone else hear about this?
Yeah just be careful that this is not some sort of scam phone call. Just call back Tata Sky on their official customer support number and inform them you got this call and whether this offer is real or not.
There were online reports earlier (or was is in the newspapers) of imposters coming to steal dishes and STBs pretending to be service technicians - but perhaps this one was genuine.
We also got call from Technician about saying to replace dish. We said we don't want to, but they insisted that its company's order to replace all dish which are very old. Ours was taken in same month when Tata Sky was launched (perhaps Dec 2006).
Technicians replaced dish for free, but did not replace cable which is actually very old and worn out.
Sad thing is after dish was replaced, few of Marathi channels are now showing "No Signal" message. Earlier also those channels were having low signal issue and occassionally there was no audio/video for those channels, but it worked. But now those 4-5 channels are not working.
When we called Technician he is saying raise helpdesk call, and it would be charged (visiting fee + any part replacement cost) 🙁
