Hi Guys,
There is a better and quicker way to sync your Computer clock with the mtnl server!!! I previously used to connect at a particular time and disconnect after 60 sec then go to the http://register.mtnl.net.in and check the time difference and adjust my clock but I found a better way...All you have to do is go to the site http://59.185.0.26/speed/index.jsp and you will find that the mtnl server time is displayed on the top right of screen...Just press the refresh button for the current time and adjust the time...I have checked the time using both methods and the time is almost the same (there was a 20 sec difference)...I am from Mumbai so I am not sure about Delhi...Maybe someone from Delhi can confirm if the time is same for them as well...

This allows me to start the downloads at exactly 30 seconds after 12am and disconnect 30 seconds before 8 am...Previously I used to lose 30 min...and that is equal to 15 hours in a month which is equal to 1GB approx (@25KB/s)

To adjust the clock perfectly to the last second open the site http://59.185.0.26/speed/index.jsp and open ur PC Clock as well and wait for the second hand to show 59 seconds and at that time press the refresh button on ur Internet Browser...This will show u the exact time difference and make it easier to adjust the time...

And By the way http://register.mtnl.net.in is back online and Guess what, they didn’t count the downloads for the previous two days...Have fun...

Cheers...

both the clocks are wrong!!!right now, MTNL server time is almost 10 mins ahead of IST...and these times are max 2 mins ahead...

Hi...
I checked again right now and the difference between the two clocks is 30 sec...On the 17th it was 20 sec so there might be a difference of 3 sec between the two clocks ie the clock of the server on with the site http://59.185.0.26/speed/index.jsp is hosted is 3 sec/day quicker than the MTNL Server...If that is true then it should be off by 1 min 33 sec after a month...I will check after a few days a confirm the results...
By the way does anyone know of a better way to sync ur clock with the MTNL clock??? Earlier I used to think that they messed with the clock on purpose but I am not sure...How can a clock be off by as much as 10 min IST??? Have fun...

Cheers...

Hi...
As promised I checked again and as of now the difference between the two clocks is 1 min and it was 30 sec on the 19th so I guess there is a average difference of about 8 sec per day from the 17th till the 23rd...So the clock on the site http://59.185.0.26/speed/index.jsp is useless as its not the same clock and even worse its not keeping pace with the MTNL server which keeps track of our online activity...Well I guess its back to the Drawing Board for me.......

Cheers....
