Peeps,
I have a litte free time coming up, so I'll be taking a p@$$ at what could be the last pure console version of SuperSify, i.e. if I ever think about going GUI. For all you console freaks, don't worry - the console will remain throught SuperSify's life. Just that it would probably be bundled with a GUI ... again, if I have the time.
What I plan to do for version 0.6
1) Bug Fix in renewal message: If there is a renewal message in store for you, the Renewal: and URL: fields would be displayed; but without the message
🙁
2) Verbose mode: Dump all the data that sify sends you to screen.
3) Time based login: I'll incorporate Anands program above into SuperSify, that means SuperSify will attempt to login only if it is within the given time range. Please note that this is not a scheduler and SuperSify will terminate if it isn't within that range. Anand, I believe this is what your utility does, or is it a scheduler?
For people who like scheduling - wait for the next version.
4) Keep Alive: I really like the idea of how EasySify attempts to revive your dead connection. I'll implement that with a configurable delay.
5) I noticed that the mainstream
windows client now tries to upgrade to version 2.6
😱. For one, I haven't manged to upgrade yet - It keeps saying "upgrade failed" and secondly - everything still works with SuperSify... but if there are any important changes in 2.6 do let me know and I'll try to put them in.
6) Proper handling of ctrl+c, windows close events etc.
Also, all you guys trying to learn (and already know) about the Sify network - would there be any use allowing you to specify the SAM server you login to, or the IP transmitted, etc. etc. any more flexability required anywhere?
For those of you who do keep the hearbeat running, I hope you are aware that the console is active and you can type in commands - I know the interface doesn't really make that apparent, but anyway only "quit" and "logout" are supported. Any more commands?
Bandwidth monitor is definitely not in this version.
Let me know if I've missed something or if there is something you would like upgraded from version 0.52.
Peace out,
IP.
